However, it does not mean that you are done gardening for good. In many instances a bad back is simply your body’s way of telling you to correct your posture and be more cautious. To help you take the ache out of gardening, we gathered some safety tips to help keep your green thumb alive.<br />

<strong>Prepare Your Body </strong><br />
<ul>
<li><strong>Wear comfortable clothes and shoes</strong> – never garden barefoot or in sandals. You should always wear some sort of shoe that laces up and provides good cushioning and arch support. Also, it’s important to always wear socks because they absorb the moisture from sweating so you won’t slip. Protecting your feet is the first step to protecting your back.</li>
<li><strong>Stretch before you start </strong>– gardening is a strenuous activity, so like a workout, your body needs to loosen up before you start putting it to work. Start by walking around your garden a few times and stretch before you begin. Simple stretches such as clasping your fingers together and lifting your hands high above your head and then down to your toes will help you to warm up your muscles and lubricate your joints.</li>

<strong>Tips for Healthy Posture in the Garden</strong><br />
<ul>
<li><strong>Don’t lift heavy objects </strong>–if you must lift something, remember to bend your knees and keep your back straight. Use a wheelbarrow to move objects where possible. In addition, wear belts that support your back if necessary.</li>
<li><strong>Use appropriate tools </strong>– If you use gardening tools with handles that are too short or too heavy to allow you to easily reach the areas you need, you will increase the likelihood of straining your back. Instead, try using lightweight tools with long handles or extensions. You can also use a gardening belt to keep your tools easily reachable so that you’re not constantly bending over to pick them up off the ground.</li>
<li><strong>Take breaks to stretch and rest </strong>– It’s never a good idea to stay in one position for too long, especially if you are leaning over or bending down and curving your back. It’s recommended to get up and stretch every 30 to 40 minutes. If you feel yourself getting tired, sit down and take a break after you stretch to give your back muscles a chance to recover.</li>

<strong>Know When to Stop</strong><br />
If you feel pain when you’re gardening, that is your body telling you to stop. The main thing to remember when gardening with a bad back is to break up the work into manageable increments and to continue stretching your muscles throughout the process. You should stay hydrated as well. Just like an athlete needs to cool down after a workout, you should cool down when you’re done with gardening work.<br />

Add all your meat slowly and cook thoroughly till all is separated and well done. Add your four cans of crushed tomatoes and fold though meat. Once the mixture comes to a light oil and the rest of your wine and Montreal steak seasoning Stir in and then add Parmesan cheese. Turn down to simmer and stir every so often to make sure nothing sticks to the bottom of the pan. This should cook for at least an hour better if it cooks for throughout an entire day and service the following. <li><strong>Stretch before you start </strong>– gardening is a strenuous activity, so like a workout, your body needs to loosen up before you start putting it to work. <b><span style="font-family: Calibri;">In a large sauce pan warm oil, anchovy paste, (optional) <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>and garlic, ( just till you begin to smell the
garlic), then <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>add oregano basil Montreal
steak seasoning stir and slowly add red wine. This is a great time if you like
mushrooms to add mushrooms as well. Cover and let cook slowly for five minutes
on low to medium heat do not burn the garlic. Now add the two cans of diced
tomatoes and let warm but don't let it come to a bubble. Once you start to see
sauce start to steam Parmesan cheese in large chunks and drop into sauce cover
and let cook for 15 minutes on medium low heat with a lid. Once the sauce is
finished cook your pasta put in colander had two bowls not too high and
cover with sauce almost like a soup make sure everyone gets a nice chunk of the
cheese it's like fondue. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and a little crushed red
pepper salt and pepper to taste and top off with fresh basil ribbons. Bon

We live in a world where stress comes at us from all directions. Dr. Jason Gordon, a back specialist with a long-standing practice around the corner from New York City’s Carnegie Hall, shares his take on three types of stress and the havoc they can wreak.<br /></div>
“There are three types of stress — physical, chemical and emotional or psychological. Physical stress is caused by an action — slips and falls, sports injuries, going up and down stairs, sitting all day at a desk, sleeping on a lousy mattress, things of that nature. Chemical stress can be caused by polluted air, preservatives in food, fluorescent lights, smoking, caffeine, alcohol, drugs, the list is long. Then there’s emotional stress, which I put at the top because it causes additional physical stress and can even create psychosomatic illness.”<br />

<strong>What happens when stress gets us off balance?</strong><br />“Imagine a bicycle wheel. If one spoke breaks the wheel starts to wobble. Now you’re putting stress and strain on the other spokes. Eventually, another spoke breaks and you begin to spin out of control. If you look at your life as a wheel and think of physical, chemical and emotional stress as spokes, then you can see if any of these snap due to overload, then your life gets out of balance and you start to break down.”<br /><br /><strong>Is stress control even possible?</strong><br />“Absolutely. I teach my patients how to control their stress by identifying its source, then taking preventative measures. With patience and practice, they regain their natural alignment — both physically and metaphysically. Witnessing the transformation is like watching onion layers peeling off — you start to see that individual the way they’re meant to be. They shed their pain. They’re eating better. They’re exercising. And they go from being unhappy and pessimistic to upbeat and optimistic. It’s pretty amazing.”<br /></div>

chopped onion, diced jalapenos, garlic salt, oregano, and basil and coriander

over all ingredients and fold together with a spatula, scrapping all
ingredients from the bottom till completely blended. Put all mixture into a
glass or plastic container with a tight seal refrigerator for at least 8
hours.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>This spread is amazing on all types for
sandwiches that you would have added mayo, and a much safer alternative when
taking food on picnics.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></div>

arugula. Cut into sandwich size slices and wrap in Ziploc bags. Bring enough
sandwich spread for each slice in a tight Tupperware container. When serving
sandwiches spoon spread on bread and enjoy.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Add shrimp and sauté till pink, add water or low sodium chicken broth. Bring to a light boil, gently stirring, and turn off. </span><br />

Yesterday, SB 277 went before the California Health Committee. With 400 people standing and opposing the Bill, and only 50+ who were for it, the voice of the people obviously didn't matter. The vote still went on the side of pushing SB 277 forward to be heard at the Education Committee next week.<br />
<br />
Why are we so against SB 277? We believe the statement, "If there is a risk, there should be a choice!"<br />
<br />
We know you are probably hitting sensory overload on this issue, but we ask that if you are passionate about keeping your right to choose medical decisions for your child, you contact those on the California Educational Committee and let them know where you stand.<br />
